A Market Research for Sanitization Services in Iraq’s Governorates

Zama Safe Company (ZSC) has signed an agreement with Statistics Society Support Organization (SOSS) led by Assist. Prof. Dr. Delshad Shaker Botani in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), to undertake a market study for sterilization services in the governorates of Najaf, Baghdad, Basra, and Erbil. SOSS carried out the full study, including the development of questionnaires and In-Depth Interviews (IDI), as well as field work and data collection utilizing smart devices such as tablets and smart phones. The organization also examined the data before writing and submitting the final report on the subject of the study to ZSC.

The aim of this study was twofold. The primary objective is to give quantitative and qualitative data to the ZSC through mobile data collecting (MDC), in-depth interviews (IDI), and other approaches in order to gain a better knowledge of the ZSC’s competitors. The second goal is to ascertain the sterilization market’s market share and segmentation.

Work on the study began in mid-February and ended by the end of March 2022, taking around 40 working days to complete. The sample size of 105 interviewees from four governorates was drawn. The customers were randomly selected from the four main governorates on the condition that they sterilize their own places or use the services of other sterilization service providers. Concerning the sample size of IDIs, more than 18 IDI interviews were conducted in the four governorates. The total number of customers visited by SOSS teams using survey and IDI methods was equal to 122 interviews.
