A Training Course about How to Construct Electronic Questionnaire using KOBOTOOLBOX

Overview

A training course about how to create an electronic questionnaire using KOBOTOOLBOX specially prepared for those who are in need of constructing a questionnaire in a developed and electronic manner to be fully aware of the data collection process (survey) and its accuracy, determining the interviews’ locations on the map (GPS), as well performing many other tasks such as recording audio, image, video, and data analyzing. This kind of data collection called Mobile Data Collection (MDC). This course is very useful and powerful for monitoring and evaluating projects (M&E), and it can be used in various areas of the life when a person needs to collect data, for example, it is possible for a salesman (or procurement) to use Kobo when s/he collects daily or weekly data from her/his clients, and at the same time, the company manager could be aware of the employee’s exact location and time via GPS and the duration of the employee’s stay in that place. This course was designed with an advanced academic way by an expert in the field of data collection and statistics.

Objective

This course consists of the following objectives:

  1. What is the questionnaire form and types of questions;
  2. How to create a questionnaire form and types of questionnaires;
  3. Using KOBOTOOLBOX to conduct online and offline interviews through modern technologies and trusted by developed countries and international organizations, as well as the using of tablets, mobile, and computers instead of the pen and paper method;
  4. Create questionnaires through XLSForm.

By the end of this course, participants will understand the following:

  1. What is the questionnaire?
  2. Sections of the questionnaire
  3. Types of questions in the questionnaire
  4. Using of the electronic questionnaire instead of the Pen and Paper method.
  5. Familiarity with how to use the electronic questionnaire
  6. Introducing participants to the electronic questionnaire (KOBOTOOLBOX)
  7. Create an account with KOBOTOOLBOX
  8. Learning of the types of questionnaire forms in KOBO (online, through Excel, etc.)
  9. Creating an online form builder.
  10. Deploying and using the questionnaire form
  11. Management and controlling of the data collection process
  12. How to download and manipulate data in KOBO
  13. Creating advanced questionnaire forms through XLSForm
  14. Data analyses using KOBO.

Speaking Language of the Course

It is worth noting that the speech language of the training course will be in the following three languages:

  • Kurdish Language.
  • Arabic Language.
  • English Language.

Audience

The course is intended for the following categories:

  1. Anyone dealing with the data;
  2. Persons whose job relates to the researches, follow-up, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), polls, statistical surveys, project management, data management, etc.;
  3. Any person who works in governmental or non-governmental international and local organizations or any other institutions whose work is related to data entry, reviewing, organizing or summarizing data and analyzing it, for example: economists, accountants, administrators, program managers, data information managers, information employees, Data Analysts, Data Entry Officers, etc.

About the Trainer

Assistant Professor Dr. Delshad Shaker Ismael Botani is a lecturer of Statistics and Informatics department in Salahaddin University – Erbil and CEO of SOSS Company with more than of 23 years of experience teaching statistical subjects and conducting surveys, construction of questionnaires in humanitarian and marketing fields, experiences in training enumerators and researchers, data analyses in national and international organizations such as UN-FAO, GFK Company, FHI360, USAID, UNICEF, etc. He is a member of national and international organizations such as ESOMAR, Kurdistan Economist Syndicate, and has one published statistical book called AMARZANI in Kurdish language.

Course Duration and Fees

There are 2 options for course duration and fees:

  1. The first option is conducting a training course on Thursday, March 5, 2020 for 3 days, 6 hours a day, from 9:30 – 16:30. The place of training course is SOSS office – Erbil Governorate.

    The course fee is 250 USD including coffee breaks, lunch. Early bird is 200 USD discount until 23rd February 2020 (10 days before the start date of the course).

  2. The second option is conducting a training course on Monday, March 9, 2020 for 9 days, 2 hours a day, from 16:30 – 18:30. The place of training course is SOSS office – Erbil Governorate.

    The course fee is 230 USD including coffee breaks. Early bird is 180 USD discount until 27th February 2020 (10 days before the start date of the course).

A total 15-20 participants would be selected from the nomination received.
