A Training Course on Statistical Analysis Using IBM SPSS V25
Overview
There is a need for conducting a training programme with a special focus on statistical methods only by using a standard statistical software such as SPSS. This software is very user friendly and vastly used by academicians/researchers/students to analyze the data of research studies/Surveys/Evaluations, etc. Therefore, a training course/programme entitled. “A training course on statistical analysis using IBM SPSS V25” is being organized for professionals engaged in research and analysis in any field or any working place.
Objective
This course will provide an application-oriented introduction to the statistical component of SPSS, how to make data entering and coding of closed and open-ended questions, how to manipulate different kinds of data (qualitative or quantitative), and how to making transformation of data. Participants will review some statistical techniques and discuss situations in which they would use each technique, the assumptions made by each method, how to set up the analysis, as well as how to interpret the results. This includes a broad range of techniques for exploring, summarizing and presenting data, as well as investigating and testing underlying relationships. Participants will gain an understanding of when, where and why to use these various techniques as well as how to apply them with confidence, interpret their output, and graphically display the results.
Training Course Outcome
By the end of this course participants will understand the following:
- Meaning of Statistics, types of data, level of measurements, population and sample, sampling techniques, etc.
- SPSS Data entering environment and data coding.
- SPSS data processing and presenting.
- SPSS windows understanding such as Data editor, Viewer (Output), Pivot Table, Chart Editor, Syntax window, etc.
- Analyze any type of qualitative and quantitative data using SPSS with confidence.
- Learning how to do daily routine works using SPSS Paste features.
- Capacity building of the participants to design the analysis plan for surveys, secondary data, and evaluation studies using SPSS.
Audience
The course is intended for the following categories:
- Anyone with limited or no statistical background;
- Anyone who has worked with SPSS Statistics and wants to become better versed in the basic statistical capabilities of SPSS;
- Anyone who wants to refresh their knowledge and statistical experience that were gained many years ago;
- Anyone working in Governmental, INGO, NGO or any other institutions that his/her work is related to data entering, reviewing, organizing, summarizing, presenting, analyzing, or interpreting such as economists, programme managers, data information manager, information officer, data analyst officer, Data entry officer, etc.
Number of Participants
A total 15-20 participants would be selected from the nomination received.
