An Overview

SOSS offers you a free online training course on “The World of Data Collection”. This course focuses on understanding what data is, its importance, and how to collect it using qualitative methods such as in-depth interviews (IDI) and Focus Group Discussions (FGD), and quantitative methods such as questionnaires and field data. The course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to collect data accurately and effectively.

Objectives

The course aims to introduce participants to the various concepts and methods of data collection, and to enhance their abilities to implement these methods efficiently in their practical environments. It also aims to build a deeper understanding of the importance of data in making evidence-based decisions.

At the end of this course, participants will learn:

2. Learn about methods of collecting qualitative and quantitative data.

Information about the Trainer

Assistant Professor Dr. Delshad Shaker Ismail Botani, PhD in Statistics, President of SOSS and a lecturer in the Department of Statistics and Informatics at Salahaddin University-Erbil. He has more than 30 years of experience teaching statistics subjects and performing data analyzes in national and international organizations such as the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, GFK, FHI360, USAID and UNICEF. He is a member of organizations such as ESOMAR, the Kurdistan Economists Syndicate, the Iraqi Statisticians Syndicate, the Arab Statisticians Union, and has a published statistical book called AMARZANI written in the Kurdish language.

Course Duration and Location

The training course will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, for two days, from 16:30 to 18:00. The course will be held online using the Zoom platform.

Note:

• A certificate of participation will be distributed to participants who wish to obtain it.
• Participants will be able to ask the trainer questions during the course.
