On May 16, 2024, under the auspices of the Integrity Commission in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, UNDP, and the European Union, our organization (SOSS), participated in a significant workshop. Represented by Dr. Delshad Shaker Ismael Botani, we engaged in discussions focused on the draft code of conduct for NGOs.

The workshop brought together various civil society components to deliberate on the preparation of a comprehensive code of conduct and ethics, aimed at benefiting both civil society as a whole and NGOs in Kurdistan specifically. Key topics included the drafting process of the code, its content characteristics, and the readiness of NGOs to adhere to ethical guidelines.

This draft code of conduct is envisioned as a crucial tool for self-regulation, designed to enhance integrity, transparency, and accountability within the sector. The workshop emphasized the importance of these ethical standards in promoting better governance and trust within civil society.
