A Data Collection Survey for Automobile Drivers’ Opinions in Iraq
Statistics Organization for Society Support (SOSS) and the Aurelis consulting have signed a Contract with respect to data collection via personal interviews (CAPI Survey / Face to Face interviews through tablets). The surveyed places were divided into three geographical areas: Baghdad, Basra, and Erbil governorates.
The primary goal of the data collection was to provide Aurelis Consulting with 500 interviews in the south, center, and north of Iraq in order to better understand Iraqi drivers’ attitudes toward vehicle repair and how to improve automobile services throughout the country.
In September 2021, a one-day training course was conducted under the supervision of SOSS to ensure standardization, understanding, and logistical feasibility and contingencies. Then, on the second day, SOSS teams ran a pilot test to ensure the project’s overall success. The team was consisted of a team leader, a supervisor, nine enumerators, three standby enumerators, and a data checker over a phone. The duration of the field survey was approximately 10 days. SOSS collected data using Mobile Data Collection (MDC) through tablets and mobile devices. The total of 516 interviews were done by the team.
