A Feasibility Study of Miran Cement Plant in Sulaymaniyah Governorate
SOSS was authorized by Miran Group (MG) and Deep Engineering Company (DEC) to conduct a feasibility study in the Sulaymaniyah Governorate of the KRG to analyze the factors that would make it profitable to build a cement production plant. These factors include, but are not limited to, the following: site location, plant components, type of production, competitors, growth and market factors, consumption projections, and financial feasibility.
The goal of the Miran Cement Plant is to develop two production lines capable of producing 6,000 clinkers (6,667 cement) per day (TPD) of packaged and bulk Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) utilizing only renewable energy sources.
The comprehensive feasibility study was conducted in 7 governorates (Baghdad, Duhok, Diyala, Erbil, Kirkuk, Ninewa, and Sulaymaniyah) and commenced from May to the end of September 2022 with a team of 16 SOSS experts to provide the MG and DEC with an economic, social, environmental, and market overview of the current status of cement production in Iraq, to improve their investment decision-making process, and alert them to any vulnerabilities.
