Our Participation in the Final Workshop on the Draft NGO Code of Conduct in Duhok City

On August 11-12, 2024 in Duhok city, our organization, SOSS, proudly participated in the final workshop on the Draft NGO Code of Conduct, held under the auspices of the Integrity Commission of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, UNDP, and the European Union. Represented by Dr. Delshad Shaker Ismael Botani, we actively contributed to discussions aimed at shaping this vital document.

The workshop convened key civil society stakeholders to finalize a comprehensive code of conduct and ethics, designed to benefit both the broader civil society and NGOs specifically. Discussions centered on the final stages of the drafting process, key characteristics of the code, and the readiness of NGOs to uphold these ethical standards.

This draft code of conduct is poised to become a pivotal tool for self-regulation, enhancing integrity, transparency, and accountability within the NGO sector. The workshop underscored the importance of these ethical guidelines in fostering better governance and trust across civil society.
